Assignment 1 - Castle

For this project, I initially had so many ambitious ideas--I love fantasy, so the idea of getting to make a castle was super exciting. I was quickly grounded by the end of the first class, though, as this is my first time ever trying 3D design and I realized I definitely have a lot to learn before I can make anything super intricate! So, considering my skill level, I decided to go with something a little more simple and take inspiration from my summer, which I spent living in Qualicum Beach and Parksvillehome of a yearly beach festival and sandcastle competition.

The hardest part of the project was figuring out how to make the bucket, which ended up taking the most time to figure out due to my lack of experience. My process was really complicated at first, but as I worked I began to figure out easier ways of doing things. I really like how it turned out and I’m glad I decided to include it.

Overall, I had a lot of fun during this project and got some really good practice with using some commands like loft and boolean difference/union. It was a really great introduction to object design for me and I’m excited for the rest of the semester!!
